Numana Former Village

Numana is a former fishing village, overlooking the Adriatic Sea and
surrounded by the green forests of the Conero Park.

Its history dates back to 2500 years ago, when the first Greek colonists settled in this part of Italy, attracted by the beauty of the area and the presence of safe harbors.Today Numana is a village of 3000 inhabitants, and summer arrives to host more than 50,000 visitors.

Its history dates back to 2500 years ago, when the first Greek colonists settled in this part of Italy, attracted by the beauty of the area and the presence of safe harbors.The history Numana Alta is contained in the old town, where a dense network of narrow streets embraces the colorful houses of the fishermen and then opens up into a large belvedere overlooking the sea. It is a terrace with a unique view that sweeps across the coast of the Riviera del Conero. From the center you can go down to the port through the ancient terrace, the Costarella. Here begins the bottom of Numana, the most modern and lively part of the city, full of bars and baths.

Conero Park


Conero Park, a central territory from whatever perspective you look at it, appears in the center of Italy, first of all, in the middle of the Adriatic, and in the heart of Marche.
A scene of rare beauty which includes a stretch of coastline and large hills, between the towns of Ancona, Camerano, Numana and Sirolo.
At the center of the park stands Mount Conero (572 meters tall), a promontory overlooking the sea which is the only elevated area in the stretch from Trieste to Gargano.

The Riviera del Conero is not only sea and beaches. It’s also one of villages of the hinterland and clinging to the hills (Recanati, the birthplace of Leopardi and (Castelfidardo, accordion town), is one of the underground cities that unroll beneath the streets (Camerano and Osimo), is that castles and fortresses (Offagna, Polverigi, Agugliano, Camerata Picena, Santa Maria Nuova), is one of the major pilgrimage sites in the world (Loreto).
Definitely worth a visit also:
Ancona, the Regional Capital;
Macerata, with its Arena Spheristerion;
Grotte di Frasassi (which are approximately 70 km): create a path underground of great charm;
Urbino declared a World Heritage Site and one of the capitals of the Italian Renaissance;
Ascoli Piceno: city of enchanting beauty;
– and the Sibillini mountain range.
